Hobby Lobby will increase the minimum full-time hourly wage rate to $17 from 1st October

The minimum full-time hourly wage by Hobby Lobby will be rising to around dollar 17 from the date of 1st October 2020. Hobby Lobby is an arts and crafts chain. Now the labourers which are employed in the company will be getting $17 per hour wage for the full-time work that they are doing. This is quite a great deal for all of the labourers who were experiencing cutouts due to the coronavirus pandemic. The company has recently faced consumer boycott over a viral photo. The viral photo consists of the display of decorative letters which were arranged in such a way that it read USA Vote Trump and the caption was In A Hobby Lobby.

People were quite furious reading the caption and the letters. As a result, the company faced a consumer boycott. Recently, when the company announced a rise in their minimum hourly wage they also said that they were the first retailers to do so. They said that they were the first retailer to establish a nationwide minimum hourly wage above the federal minimum wage. They also stated that the company has raised minimum wages for the tenth time over the last 11 years. Last time the company raised the minimum wage to $15 in the year 2014. They also said that they set the trend of rising wages for all of the other retailers.

On the other hand, Target also raises the minimum wages for all of the US hourly employees to dollar 15 in the month of July. The CEO of Hobby Lobby and the founder of the company also issued a statement. They said that they are always closing their stores sharp at 8 p.m. Also, providing one of the best payment options and benefits to their workers. The founder also said that one of the main reasons to provide an increase in pay scale is because of the hardship that the workers are facing due to the pandemic.
