Amazon will be purchasing 1,500 warehouses in suburban locations to give competition to Walmart

Amazon is all set to expand the business and open 1,500 small warehouses across the US. The notification about the business expansion came recently from the concerned authorities of Amazon.com. The warehouses will be situated in suburban locations across the country. The company’s main motive is to raise the stakes against Walmart. If the company purchases warehouses in suburban locations then it will definitely raise the stakes against the retailing chain of Walmart.

Walmart has been doing great business since the start of the pandemic because of the e-commerce platform that has been developed by the concerned authorities of the retailing chain. People were already buying a lot of things from Walmart. Because of the e-commerce platform that has been developed by Walmart, it is easier for people to buy a lot more things while sitting at their houses. Walmart has been keeping up its game by building doorstep delivery options. Target is also not keeping back from the race.

The Chief Executive of Amazon, Jeff Bezos is said to have invested billions in the new warehouses so that the company’s transportation capabilities can be increased. People are now buying a lot of things online because of the current state of the world. Amazon has been struggling to keep up its two-day delivery game. Two-day delivery option is available for all of the prime members. 175,000 workers are also hired by the company to keep its two-day delivery running. However, Walmart and Target are also providing the same-day delivery option to all of the customers. Walmart has also come out with a subscription policy. However, it is not as efficient as Amazon Prime.

Amazon currently bought two formal Fairway Market stores in New Jersey situated in the New York metro area. However, much information about the purchase is not made public by the concerned authorities of Amazon.
